A Ljubljanai Nemzetközi Filmfesztivál keretin belül idén is megrendezésre kerül 2011. november 10. és 12. között a Neighbouring Co-production Meeting (NCM). Az 5 szomszédos ország – Ausztria, Horvátország, Magyarország, Olaszország és Szlovénia – producerei számára idén is lehetőség nyílik a koproduceri találkozóra.

Jelentkezni csak projekttel lehet, a határidő: 2011. október 18.

Célcsoport: játékfilm animációs vagy dokumentumfilm-projektekkel rendelkező, korábban már legalább egy filmet készített producerek jelentkezését várják.

A program röviden: November 10-én Linda Beath tart egy nyílt szemináriumot az európai koprodukciós lehetőségekről és különféle fionanszírozási modellekről, majd zártkörű workshop munka veszi kezdetét. A következő két nap során a producerek előre egyeztetett személyes megbeszéléseken vehetnek részt Linda Beath-szel, illetve lehetőség nyílik a többi prodecerrel való tárgyalásokra is.

Országonként maximum 3 projekt jelentkezését fogadják el a szervezők.

In 2011 the MEDIA programme of the European Union proudly celebrates the twentieth anniversary of its successful promotion of the European audio‑visual heritage, encouragement of the transnational circulation of films, and fostering of the audio‑visual industry competitiveness.

Therefore between 10 and 12 November 2011 the Ljubljana International Film Festival (LIFFe),one of the European festivals selected to receive the long-term MEDIA support, has the pleasure of hosting the fourthNeighbouring Coproduction Meeting (NCM) of Slovenia, Austria, Croatia, Italy and Hungary (10-12 November), an initiative of five neighbouring MEDIA Desks and Antennae, the Cankarjev dom cultural and congress centre and the Slovenian Film Centre.

FOCUS AND LECTURER

This year’s Neighbouring Co-production Meeting is aimed at supporting the younger generation of promising producers from the aforementioned five countries by helping them to develop their ability to strategically and effectively manage their projects in terms of financing and co‑productions planning.

Fifteen selected production companies with projects in development(three production companies per country) will have an exceptional opportunity to work with Linda Beath (Ideal Filmworks Italia), an acknowledged international film financing consultant and strategic planning expert with a vast and long‑term experience in film industry in Europe, Canada and America, and a distinguished MEDIA workshop tutor (Screen Leaders, EAVE).

The Neighbouring Co-production Meeting will start on 10 November with an open afternoon seminar on film financing in Europe, led by Linda Beath and aimed at the participants as well as the interested publicin the Cankarjev dom cultural and congress centre (Hall E1-3), the venue of 22nd Ljubljana International Film Festival. The seminar will be followed by the co‑production part, intended for the pre‑selected participating producers only: an interactive workshop with Linda Beath on 10 November,where the participants will actively discuss, rewrite and present their financing plans; and individual project consultations with Linda Beath (45 min each) as well as informal co-production meetings between the participating producers on 11 and 12 November.

TARGET GROUP

The younger generation of fiction and documentary film producers with experience: theproducers who have finished their first/second films and are currently developing a project with European content, suitable and intended for international co‑productions, as well as young but experienced executive or line-producers who would like to become creative producers and have suitable project(s) in development, are welcome to apply.

REQUIREMENTS AND SELECTION CRITERIA

The experience of producers and the co‑production potential of the project(s) will be taken into account as the main selection criteria, while producer’s age will as well be a point of reference.

COSTS

Participation in Neighbouring Co-production Meeting is free of charge and the meals will be provided by the organisation.Please understand that the NCM arrangement does not include full board accommodation and travel – you will receive a special hotel offer but you are to cover the expenses yourself / in cooperation with your MEDIA desk.

PART 1: Open seminar for the interested public with Linda Beath:
- Mining Europe for production finance -
In this open seminar Linda Beath will present a dense and informational map on how to search for co-production partners in Europe: different financial models for both the development and production period in Europe will be discussed and examples of specific financial plans will be presented. 
The number of participants is limited, there is no registration fee.

PART 2: Closed workshop with Linda Beath for the selected producers with projects:
- How to plan the success of your project –
This part of the seminar will take place as a closed workshop. The participants (selected young and promising producers with projects in development suitable for co productions) will be encouraged to take an active part in the activities devoted mainly to the financial strategy (preparing and discussing different financing and coproduction plans, pitching the projects to fellow group members)
The workshop is intended for selected participants only.
